How to cancel a plant app subscription on iPhone
Every plant app on the App Store, including PictureThis, PlantIn, Planta and Leafsight, bills through Apple, so cancelling works the same way for all of them and never needs the app's own menus. Here are the steps, and the two things that catch people out.
The steps
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the plant app's subscription.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial), then confirm.
You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and nothing is charged after that. You can also reach the same list in the App Store app: tap your picture, then Subscriptions.
The two things that catch people out
- Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. It keeps renewing until you cancel it in Settings.
- A free trial becomes a paid subscription on its own. To avoid the first charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple shows the end date on the subscription's page.
If you were already charged
Ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in, find the charge and choose a reason. Apple decides refunds for every app on the App Store; the app's maker cannot issue one directly. Each app's own support can still help with questions about what you were charged for.
What Leafsight charges
Leafsight is free to download with free assessments every day, and with a free account the first result's care steps are free. After that, Leafsight Pro is $5.99 a week with a 3-day free trial, $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year or $49.99 once, or one result's steps for $2.99, one time. The price is on the screen before any trial starts. Cancelling it is the same four steps above, and the Support page answers the common questions about billing.
Leafsight is new (its first version was released in September 2026) and has no ratings shown on its US App Store page yet. Every result shows how sure the model is, the full result says what one photo cannot show, and a photo assessment can be wrong: for a valuable plant, or anything you might eat, ask a garden centre or a plant clinic.
Leafsight is free to download, and the plant problem guides on this site are free to read.
